4 Reasons to Grow Your Hair

*Post may contain slight passive aggression*

If you're reading this blog there's a good chance you're considering growing long hair. A quick scan of previous posts might lead you to think growing and maintaining long hair is nothing more than a massive hassle, and you wouldn't be wrong.

I'm not here to play down the struggles of having longer hair, and I'll be honest, there are plenty. The most harrowing being the individual who takes every given opportunity to voice his disgust at its length.

"You need a haircut."

Noted, cheers.

Maybe I do. After all it is just a massive pain.

How it never fails to find its way into my eyes, no matter what I'm doing.

There's all the bother of washing, conditioning, styling and spending countless hours drying it, unable to just wake up and go.

There's the classic Scottish weather and, of course, the wind that has a knack for undoing all the hard work to make it presentable anyway.

Finally, there's having to listen to closed-minded comments, like "you need a haircut". If we're exchanging advice, I'd advise cutting the cliché comments that we're all bored of.

As for your advice itself, I'd like to explain why the answer is NO.

Reasons to Grow Long Hair.

You stand out

Long hair on a guy is uncommon, a differentiator, the thing that could set you apart from every other guy in the room.

Like it or not, long hair is memorable and with it, you will be too.

It's a conversation starter

Following on from before, the individuality of long hair is enough to peak curiosity in some, attracting them to approach and ask questions.

Meeting new people is always a good thing and it's often the best types who take interest.

Resilience & Confidence

It takes a great deal of courage to be yourself and differentiate from the norm, but it's not always easy. Making it through the awkward stage requires thick skin and after a while you forget to care what other people think.

You'll notice your confidence and self-respect growing alongside your hair.

The Mane Thing

Warm ears in the winter...

Joking aside, the only real reason to grow your hair long is as simple as because you want to. It is a constant pain and it’s not the easiest option, but you get used to it, and it’s worth it.

Plus, we all know it looks cool as ****.
